Miriam Alum brings over 10 years of protection work experience within the global humanitarian and development setting in Africa. Her dedication to children is grounded in her vast programming knowledge, rolling out safeguarding measures anchored on rights-based approaches, community engagement, accountability, and child rights advocacy. Miriam excels in strategy and policy analysis to support the most vulnerable children and women, adhering to international human rights laws along with regional and local commitments.
Her greatest aspiration is to ensure that the voices of the most marginalized in society, especially children, girls, women, and those excluded, are heard and prioritized in policy and practice. With an MA in advanced social work from five international institutions—Université Paris Nanterre, University of Warsaw, University of Lisbon, University of Lincoln, and Aalborg University—Miriam has built a strong reputation for championing the voices of the marginalized. She has worked with esteemed international NGOs, including Lutheran World Federation, Save the Children, Action Africa Help, and TPO Uganda.
